The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is seeking to
appoint a Librarian (Cataloguing and Indexing) to contribute to the
collection, organisation and control of information for the Cunningham
Library.  The Cunningham Library's range of services and products are
accessed by ACER staff and external users, particularly the wider
education community.

In this role you will:

    * Index and abstract journal articles, collection papers, reports,
electronic and other documents for databases such as the Australian
Education Index
    * Assist with the cataloguing of books, serials, tests and other
documents
    * Assist with other library activities such as loans, returns and
shelving

To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant tertiary
qualification and will be eligible for professional membership of the
Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).  Your experience
in special or research libraries, along with your knowledge of the
theory and practice of indexing and/or cataloguing will be important in
this role.  Previous experience with DBTextworks and Libraries Australia
is desirable.  Further to this, you will need good organisational skills
and the ability to work as part of a library team.

This is a part-time (0.8 EFT) position for an initial term of two years,
based in our Camberwell office.   Salary is within the range of $57,341
- $63,377 plus 17% superannuation.
