Dear Colleagues
I thought I would let you know that we are about to embark on work to
update the Australian Thesaurus of Education Descriptors (ATED), leading
to the publication of a 4th edition in 12 to 18 months.
The last edition of ATED was in 2003, although there has been some work
in specific areas since then. You can read more about ATED and search it
at http://www.acer.edu.au/library/ated/about-ated
We would welcome feedback from users of ATED (or databases that make use
of ATED), on any particular terms or subject areas that are of concern
or interest. In particular feedback on concepts and trends that you find
aren't reflected by the currently available set of terms; and feedback
on terms in use that you think are no are longer appropriate for use as
descriptors. Now is the chance to bring to our attention any thesaurus
bugbears you have!
Barbara Spiller and Anna Gifford will be working on the project, with
assistance from other ACER staff and external reviewers. Please contact
Barbara at spiller at acer.edu.au should you wish to provide feedback or
discuss further. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Stuart
