David Andrich will be visiting the University of Illinois at Chicago in
April. We are planning for David to give a 2-day Rasch workshop on Saturday
and Sunday April 29 and 30, 2006.
Below is a brief description for the April workshop in Chicago. I would
appreciate if you could pass this along to anyone that may be interested.
An Introduction to Rasch Measurement: Theory and Applications
April 29 30, 2006
The purpose of this training workshop is to introduce participants to the
theory and applications of Rasch measurement and provide hands-on
experience using the RUMM2020 interactive windows program to analyse data
according to the unidimensional Rasch measurement models.
Participants: This workshop is relevant for those who have become
acquainted with the practice of Rasch measurement but would like to
understand the principles behind it, and for those who know they are likely
to need to use Rasch measurement.
Instructional material will be based on the application of the Rasch model
to the following three response formats: dichotomous, including multiple
choice achievement items, rating scale and partial credit.
Analysis of real data sets with the the interactive facilities on the
program RUMM2020 for Rasch analysis of data will be demonstrated.
Participants should bring their own PC laptop to analyze their own data.
Registration includes the full 2-day workshop, a full version of RUMM2020
which expires at the end of June 2006 with three levels of manuals, morning
coffee, morning and afternoon tea breaks each day, over 250 pages of
handouts and reprinted papers, a copy of Introduction to Rasch Measurement
(a 698 page book) and a one-year subscription to the Journal of Applied
