Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Differential Psychology/Quantitative Psychology

School of Psychology

Faculty of Science

 

The School was the first established Psychology department in Australia and has
a proud history of excellence that characterises all of its research and
educational activities. It is located within the Faculty of Science, a provider
of world-class teaching and research programs across the spectrum of the
sciences. Recent retirements, sustained increases in research funding and strong
enrolments have facilitated a rapid growth in the School’s staffing and research
profile and allowed refurbishment and expansion of its research facilities.
These developments provide the appointee with the opportunity to join a vibrant
and well-equipped department with a strong research focus.

The School seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer who will contribute to
teaching and research in the broad areas of differential psychology, individual
differences and/or psychometrics/quantitative psychology. 

 

The essential criteria for appointment as a Lecturer include a PhD in psychology
and a significant record of research achievement, for stage of career, in an
area related to differential psychology, individual differences and/or
psychometrics/quantitative psychology. The appointee will also demonstrate the
capacity for high-quality teaching, excellent communication skills and the
ability to work co-operatively in a team environment.



Appointment as a Senior Lecturer level will, in addition to the above criteria,
require evidence of successful applications for external research funding and
demonstrated excellence in teaching and postgraduate supervision. 

 

The position is full-time continuing, subject to the completion of a
satisfactory probation period. Membership of a University approved
superannuation scheme is a condition of appointment for new appointees. For

Level of appointment and responsibility will be commensurate with qualifications
and experience

 

Remuneration package: Level B: $81,729 - $97,053 p.a. (which includes a base
salary Lecturer Level B $69,062 - $82,011 p.a., leave loading and up to 17%
employer's contribution to superannuation)  Level C: $100,115 - $115,266 p.a.
(which includes a base salary Senior Lecturer Level C $84,599 - $97,548 p.a.,
leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
