APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING:

The ACSPRI Summer Program 2007, Australian National University, 15-26
January 2007

To advise that bookings are now open for the ACSPRI Summer Program 2007
which will be held at the Australian National University in Canberra,
from
15-26 January 2007. The Summer Program in social research and research
technology comprises two separate weeks of 5-day courses, with attendees
able to attend no more than one course in each week.

The deadline for receipt of all early-bird course fees (info given
below) will be c.o.b. 5 December 2006.

The various courses on offer for the Summer Program 2007 (SP2007) are
listed below (instructors in brackets):

Week 1 (15-19 January 2007):
Introductory level:
Introduction to Qualitative Research Techniques  (Carol Grbich);
Introduction to Statistics (Kay Lipson); Introduction to Social Network
Research & Network Analysis (Malcolm Alexander); Data Analysis in SPSS
(Brian Phillips) - (ACSPRI-provided) laptop-based course ;

Intermediate level:
Fundamentals in Multiple Regression (David Gow); Factor Analysis (John
Gardner); Data Analysis using Stata (Jo Dipnall);

Advanced level:
Measurement in the Psychosocial Sciences: from raw scores to Rasch
measures (Andrew Stephanou) - teaching-room based/BYO laptops; Applied
Structural Equation Modelling (Philip Holmes-Smith); Practical
Multilevel Analysis using MLwiN and LISREL (Ken Rowe);

Week 2 (22-26 January 2007):
Introductory level:
Focus Groups and other Qualitative Group Techniques (Ros Hurworth);
Introduction to Nvivo: computer-assisted qualitative data analysis
(Leonie Daws); Data Analysis in SAS (Steve Clarke);

Intermediate level:
Qualitative Research: design, analysis and representation (Delwyn
Goodrick); Research Completion: selecting research methodology,
statistical procedures, and writing up (Gordon Emmerson); Applied
Multiple Regression (David Gow) - (ACSPRI-provided) laptop-based course
; Time Series (Brent Davis);

Advanced level:
Introduction to Data Mining using SAS Enterprise Miner (Denny Meyer);
Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling using AMOS (Arda
Cunningham); Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling using LISREL
(Len Coote).


5-Day Course Fees (GST inclusive): 

*	ACSPRI Member:  $1330  (early-bird fee*: $1210) 
*	Full-time (only) PhD student - no more than 8 hrs paid
employment
each week: $1330 (early-bird fee*: $700) 
*	Non-member:   $1930  (early-bird fee*: $1800). 

*  Note that early-bird course fees must be paid in full on or before
the early-bird closing date of 5 December 2006, or normal fee rate
applies.

course fee structure, and refund/cancellation policy.

member, then all employees of that institution are eligible for the
member course fee rate(s).
