TWO WEEKS UNTIL ICOM!

Join us for the International Conference on Outcomes Measurement (ICOM),
to be held September 11-13, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda. The ICOM
program boasts more than 80 presenters--don't miss this landmark
conference featuring top psychometricians and behavioral health
researchers.

Hosted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the NIH Office
of Behavioral Social Science Research (OBSSR), and the University of
Illinois at Chicago, ICOM's theme this year is "Behavioral Health
Measurement: From Theory to Application." We will review the science
behind the measurement of important constructs in substance use and
behavioral health research, while also exploring opportunities to improve
the field with the new tools available in psychometrics.

In addition to the main conference, ICOM will be hosting two pre-session
workshops: Introduction to IRT/Rasch Measurement Using Winsteps on
September 9th and 10th, and the Introduction to PROMIS, Item Response
Theory, Computerized Adaptive Testing, and Using Assessment Center
Software for Clinical Research on September 10th.

For more details on the program and the workshop opportunities, as well as
registration information, please visit www.icom-2008.org. If you have any
questions, please contact Kate Langley, ICOM Coordinator at 312-996-0859
