Ability estimation with known item difficulties:
MLE method: www.rasch.org/rmt/rmt102t.htm
Log-odds method: www.rasch.org/rmt/rmt22g.htm

With modern computers, the more computationally-intensive MLE method is 
practical in real-time applications.
