Dear colleague,

I am writing to tell you about an upcoming educational opportunity:

What:       The Summer Institute on Measuring Rehabilitation Outcomes
will provide an introduction to both professional -- (M.D.s, Ph.D.s,
OTDs, PTDs) and student- level medical rehabilitation researchers -- who
desire to develop skills in applied and theoretical measurement.  This
dynamic, two-day course led by Richard Gershon, Ph.D. and Nan Rothrock,
Ph.D. will cover crucial topics including Item Response Theory,
Computerized Adaptive Testing methods, introduction to the
Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement System (PROMIS)  as well as
Assessment Center (a free, online application that allows researchers to
centralize research activities), Rasch Model theory, instrument
development, and related measurement and analysis tools. 

When:       June 20 and 21, 2011. Classes will be held from 8:30 to 4:00
with an hour break for lunch.

 

Where:     The Summer Institute will be held at two locations:

Day 1:    Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, 345 E. Superior Chicago
IL in the Magnuson Auditorium 16th Floor. Parking is available; the
hospital is served by public transportation. Continental breakfast,
beverages, PM snack will be provided.

 

Day 2:    MicroTek 230 W. Monroe S Suite 550, Chicago, IL. Discounted
parking is available; MicroTek is served by public transportation. AM &
PM snack, catered lunch, and beverages will be provided.

 

Cost:   Tuition is $140.00 for professionals and $70 for students
(documentation of full time enrollment is required). Credit cards are
the only form of payment accepted. Capacity is limited to 35 persons;
