International Outcome Measurement Conference
Sunday, November 3, and Monday, November 4, 2019
Chicago, IL, USAThe American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the Measurement Outcomes Networking Group of ACRM, and the Journal of Applied Measurement have collaborated to organize a health outcome measurement conference to be held in Chicago. This meeting of IOMC marks the first collaboration with ACRM to share meeting times and location to further enhance the opportunity to share new developments in outcome measurement, meet new colleagues, and reconnect with old friends.
The conference schedule will allow two full days of presentations devoted to the application of Rasch measurement to health outcomes. Registration through ACRM. The conference will be held at the Hilton Chicago.
The deadline for proposals for presentations is September 3, 2019. Following peer review, the papers presented at this conference will be scheduled publication in the Journal of Applied Measurement beginning in 2020 following peer review. The Journal of Applied Measurement is indexed in Pub Med and Index Medicus, which provides medical researchers easy access to the abstracts of the conference papers. The deadline is only six weeks out. So please do not forget to send your proposals to the Journal of Applied Measurement address listed below or e-mail them to IOMC2019 at jampress.org.
The conference will feature both plenary and concurrent presentations. Attendance at the meeting will be capped at 120, due to size of the meeting space.
The setting in Chicago provides an opportunity to celebrate the roots of the application of Rasch measurement to develop and improve health outcome scales. The work of Ben Wright in the 1970’s and 1980’s, exemplified by his collaboration with Ross Lambert at the Hines VA Blind Center, the redevelopment of the PECS system with Richard Harvey at Marianjoy Hospital, the work with Carl Granger at SUNY Buffalo on the FIM, and his work with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab) on numerous outcome scales, is central to the development of health outcome scales that allow parametric analyses.
Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in and hear the latest developments for measuring health outcomes.
The Hilton Chicago on South Michigan Avenue is ACRM’s headquarters hotel. Housing and registration will be available soon on ACRM registration website. For further information, please contact us at IOMC2019 at jampress.org or visit the conference website at www.jampress.org and click on the IOMC2019-Chicago link for presentation submission forms.
Hope to see you in Chicago!
