In this paper, we present the Latent Growth Item Response Model (LG-IRM), an
application of Rasch ideas to growth modeling.&nbsp; We focus on linear growth modeling,
which means that each person is estimated to have two dimensions: an intercept
estimate and a growth estimate.&nbsp; Polynomial growth modeling is also
available, where each person will have more dimensions, for example, an
acceleration dimension for quadratic growth, etc. This formulation also makes
it straightforward to incorporate measurement techniques such as differential
item functioning (DIF) effects, provision for polytomous responses, person and
item covariates (and time varying covariates), and multiple (substantive)
dimensions of growth.&nbsp; We provide two empirical examples to illustrate
several of the models, using the ConQuest software to carry out the analyses.</span></font></p>
